Stokkseyri
The village Stokkseyri is located on the Þjórsárhraun lava field, which is said to be the largest lava field on earth since the end of the last ice-age.
At the seashore you will find lots of skerries, a rich birdlife, seals and sometimes even whales can be spotted further out.
In the village you will find many interesting things like: a Gost Center, a Museum of Icelandic Wonder, a Hunting Museum, different galleries and many old historical fishermenn houses dating back to 18th century.
